Welcome to the Shield Press

Many, many years ago, Ld Magnus O'Carr called Torin, and I published a regular article in the newsletter of our local group, discussing the issues of and about heavy fighting. Sometimes it was about technique, sometimes it was about tactics or equipment, sometimes we waxed philosophical, and sometimes we just ran off at the mouth. Those articles (as I recall now) seemed mostly to deal with what concerned us at a local or regional level. With this online rebirth of that ancient work, we hope to engage a much wider audience of heavy list fighters, friends, observers and researchers of this strange activity, and anyone anywhere who has an interest in the living history, recreation, or study of medieval European martial arts and related subjects. We intend for this journal to be a place where all interested parties can engage in fellowship and discussion. On behalf of Torin and myself, you are most welcome to The Shield Press.
